The Katy Tigers overcame a resilient Memorial squad in a 49-28 win in district 19-5A action at Rhodes Stadium. Katy scored the game's first 14 points, and appeared to be cruising to another early exit for the starters in the second half.
| Team | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | Final |
| Katy | 14 | 14 | 7 | 14 | 49 |
| Memorial | 0 | 7 | 7 | 14 | 28 |
However, Memorial upped its level of play in the second half after trailing 28-7 at the half. The Mustangs scored on the first drive of the second half, and only a botched pitch inside the Katy five yard line prevented the Mustangs from claiming points on every second half drive.
Although Memorial's offense caught fire, the Mustang defense could not extinguish the blaze that is the 2010 Katy running game. Tiger running backs Donovonn Young and Adam Taylor led the way from the first possession behind another powerful team blocking effort. Senior Vernon Jeffries added two touchdowns. Memorial could not stop the Katy running game at any point, and the Tigers were able to keep the Mustangs' at arm's length for most of the contest as a result.
The win keeps Katy's goal of winning a district championship alive with two games remaining in the regular season. The Tigers play Katy Taylor next week. Memorial continues its push for a playoff spot against Seven Lakes. Katy's bracket status remains unclear, but a Seven Lakes win against Memorial would solidify Katy's position in the Division 2 playoffs. If Memorial wins, nothing will be decided until the last week.
The 49 points scored against Memorial move the 2010 Tigers (414 points) within 29 points of the regular season scoring record set by the 2007 team (442). Donovonn Young, with 22 rushing touchdowns, is five shy of the program record for a single season shared by Aundre Dean and Bill Jatzlau (27).
