A subdued sell out crowd at Rhodes Stadium watched the Katy buzzsaw cut through Seven Lakes with the predicted ease in a 62-21 Homecoming thrashing.

Katy led 41-0 early in the third quarter after senior tailback Donovonn Young broke an 84-yard run to reinforce the Tigers' point after a lengthy halftime.
Young and sophomore tailback Adam Taylor were the primary damage dealers for the Tiger offense once again. The two combined, literally on one play, for six touchdowns. Taylor's third touchdown came after Donovonn Young received a kick as an upback, broke a long return, but had the ball punched out from behind as he neared the end zone. Taylor, ever the opportunist, spotted the rogue pigskin and pounced for the touchdown. In all, Katy totaled over 350 rushing yards.
The Katy coaches were able to get several reserves involved again this week with the game comfortably on ice shortly after half.
Seven Lakes started the night with some verve by moving deep into Katy territory on the first drive of the game, but the Tiger defense tightened up in the red zone to deny the Spartans any early momentum.
Two lost fumbles were the only blemishes in an otherwise dominant performance for the Tigers. Katy moves to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in district play. Next Friday's game against Strake Jesuit will be played at Rice (7:30 pm kick).
