Taylor post game

Postby KTB Mom » Sat Oct 24, 2009 9:13 pm

It certainly is different hearing the game instead of watching it in person. Hard to come by true impressions, but I agree with the TSRN guys in that it sounded like defense played a good game, and offense made a few too many mistakes. Too bad, especially since last weeks' effort against Seven Lakes seemed to be such a complete game.

It was a nice night for football... That is all...
Okay, that last quote COULD be taken out of context... Jeez!

Not satisfying, yes, embarrassing, hell no! Defense played just fine, everything else discombobulated. We could not and did not consistently block # 55, period. We were successful with a few draws when he ran himself out of the play, and JET blitzed on the last counter for the TD, so we caught that one just right. Still, played a better team (not great) as opposed to last couple of weeks, and I expect us to turn it up a notch heading into the playoff season.

The Chain Gang looked like they were attending their 1st football game, the refs wern't much better, I hope this was a wake up call for the offense, they seemed a little off tonight.

My shortest post-game post of all time...

Katy won 21-10.

I have out of town company so I was watching the game on TV. There were several key players that never seemed to be in the game on both sides of the ball. Number 4 and number 11 are beast though...no two ways about it.

I'm just shaking my head wondering what is going on...????

Defense played great! O had some issues, but lets give Taylor a little credit. They are a good FB team. They had a good scheme on D. We are a little banged up on the OL and that is tough when they were bringing people all night.

I am sitting here having a COLD Adult beverage and you know what.........we are 7-1! It was not a real pretty win, but over a long season there are going to be one or two of those. Especially against a Rival who came in very confident.

Defense was awesome! Offense, not so much. One thing I know, we have the best coaches around and they will keep the pushing the kids in the right direction to get the job done. This team does seem to under achieve but they will get there. Offensive line seemed to struggle tonight but even though it was a struggle we still won. Lots of penalties and 3 turnovers and we still won. We will be okay.

Can anyone explain the last penalty of the game? TSRN guys weren't sure what they were calling, but said Coach J and the assistant coaches were incensed.

The word we kept tossing around was FLAT..
flat atmosphere.. flat crowd... flat offense
defense was flat out amazing at keeping us in the game..

I wish I knew.. Coach J was PISSED.. 3 personal fouls is very uncharacteristic.. it looked pretty brutal down there throughout most of the game.

Ref said we had a personal foul after Colts INT. Flag was back by the line of scrimmage. Coach was not very happy. There were 2 or 3 offsetting personal fouls/unsportsmanlike calls.

I did hear from several players/people that Taylor was very dirty in the piles....................Too bad, cuz they played hard.

Except for the Defense, the rest of the game was a disappointment -- that includes the refs, and those fans who chose to leave early.

flat - thats a good description

there was something very odd in the atmosphere. The energy was negative and a downer.

It feels like we lost.

WHAT? People left this game early? It wasn't totally decided until about 5 minutes to go! A couple of 4th down conversions and it sounded like we couldn't have been in deep, deep trouble.

Guess everyone expected a blowout given what we've seen of Taylor in the last couple of years. We KNOW they bring their "A" game to us (at least until halftime).

I have the feeling that practice won't be that much fun this week.
