Cinco Ranch Post-Game

Postby KT2000 » Sat Nov 07, 2009 5:21 pm

Congrats to the Tigers for taking back district, and for not folding after Cinco went up 20-14. Katy teams don't quit, and you guys ground it out when you had to. Hopefully, this is the day the team really learned what it takes to win a big game against a quality team. I saw a few leaders emerge at the end down on the field, and I've been waiting for that all season. Players should be excited down on the sideline. Coach Rip shouldn't be the only one fired up down there.

I don't know anything about this officiating crew personally, but I thought this was the most blatant case of one-sided officiating that I've ever seen. It was diabolical. Luckily, Cinco missed the last field goal attempt because the officials set it for them on a platter. They were spotting Cinco an extra yard (or three in one instance I saw) on the ball spots. This was worse than The Woodlands game. Katy is not the only team that holds. Cinco ran the ball 40+ times probably, and you're telling me they didn't hold once? Bull. We all know they did. The flag they picked up in the first half was ridiculous. Will J clearly had his mask pulled and the one official who had a view threw the flag. Yet, somehow he's overruled by peers who had no view of the play. These guys aren't supposed to be leveling the playing field. Call the game by the rulebook. The officials today injected themselves into the game, and that is a Cardinal Sin.

Again, congrats to the Tigers for preventing another Cinco celebration. Cinco put forth a good effort, but I'm finding it hard to say anything good for them after some of the stunts they pulled today (the throat slashes, in particular). I can't believe Coach Clayton would stand up for anything like that, so I would hope it is addressed. Unfortunately, it looked pretty well choreographed (at least by the players).

I'll have more later.

Amen. I commented some on the officiating on my other post. Somebody needs to answer a few questions. The film won't lie.

Great to get that title back at KHS!

This seems to be a problem all over the state, officials with an apparent "agenda." Sad that they (officials) can completely change the outcome of a game with one-sided or inept calls. Poetic justice in the way this game ended.

Thanks to Cinco for playing "Hey Baby" a litle early. Ha Ha. Not much class displayed from the visitors side.

Wow, where do you star about the refs ?? The spots and pulling two long gains back were stupendous.

I will say that the Cinco coaches had a very good game plan, and my brothers saw a fantastic adjustment Cinco made at half. They went to three wide sets and took another Katy player out of the box in doing so. This took Holl out of the picture, and they ran Nlemchi where they had the numbers advantage. The passes they hit were executed well, but Katy could have certainly defended better. Cinco didn't do anything out of the ordinary. They ran stuff they've been running all year. Very, very frustrating game for Katy's pass D.

The Katy offense has struggled for rhythm all year and that continued today. They've struggled for any kind of flow this year from an execution or play selection point of view. I would say Marcus is probably the best balance the team has found all year, but we haven't seen anything like that since. Marcus wasn't exactly a steel curtain defensively, but they thought the team found a nice balance selection wise and actually executed.

One thing the offense did continue to do today was run the heck out of pitch. Shep Klinke was an absolute beast today. Cinco couldn't do much at all against Katy's pitch.

The officiating for this game was bizarre! Waving off the face mask call, not calling blatant holding on the kick off and at least two times during the last Cinco drive (which was right in front of the Katy bench); and not calling intentional grounding on the next to the last field goal attempt either represented extreme incompetence or they were biased for some unknown reason! The officiating was so bad it was surreal. Yes, sometimes there are bad calls and we often think that the refs are trying to keep the other team in the game, but this was different. This was the worst officiating, if my memory serves me, that I have even seen of 17 years of watching Katy football and 45 years of playing and watching football. Please help me make since of this....someone explain to me why I am wrong! I am open minded!

I have to admit, this is the first time I have seen KT2000 upset and go off like he did in the first post. My question is, who provided the jumbo-tron and why was it all Cinco all the time pre-game?
How blessed are we for Katy High? Extremely!

After watching the rerun a number of times concerning the first field goal at the end of the game, Coach J had every right to have exploded on the head Ref. The holder definitely did not get out of the tackle box. I don't know about you guys but I am getting pretty sick of what I see almost every week now. I can never remember things being quiet this bad. Have they been given an agenda from higher up that states, whatever you do, help us keep Katy out of the state finals this year, we think that other schools should be given a chance because Katy has won a lot of them lately. We don't want to make them feeeeeel bad about themselves.

I was ALMOST right. And no one believed me when I said it would be a close game and Cinco was actually a GOOD team. You guys need to take the red sunglasses off

In my honest to God opinion. I think Cinco won this game. Obviously not on the scoreboard. They came out and put up the greatest effort only to have their kicker cost them the game. You guys can say oh but the refs ... that's part of the game. Calls dont go our ways. They never have. They never will. We will never have a Katy biased reffing crew. Cinco is a force. It's a good thing we don't have to play them again this year.

Katy rolls through the easier D2.

Glad you're here to form opinions for us Chunk.

Cinco played about as good as they could and caught us off guard with the long passes.

Katy is still looking for a 4 quarter effort...

Why are you saying you were "almost" right? Didn't you predict a close game? It was a close game. You were right. Basically, the game was a tie. So you weren't "almost" right. You were....exactly right.

In my honest opinion I think Katy won this game. A win is a win. Cinco missed their extra point, had a high snap and they missed the field goal.

The kicker is part of the team. You have to make the extra points and field goals to make the points period.

The refs were disgusting - and I think Coach J agrees - read Muck's article. I'll give the ref's one or two bad calls but it is usually against both teams and I'm ok with that. Today, all the bad calls were against Katy. And the ball placement was way off most the game.

D2 is suppose to be the strong division this year - many have been talking about it at the 5a board.

Cinco is good but not good enough today to win.

My friend saw Cinco against Mayde Creek and he said that today, Cinco stepped up their game several notches. Despite the score, I don't think Katy won the game - Cinco lost the game.

dont get too excited over a district championship .. you see where that put Cinco last season.

It's just sad how one player who spends 15-20 minutes at practice costs them the game. I really give props to Cinco today. They were good.

I'm not too excited - I'm tired. I screamed my head off for 4 qtrs today yelling for my team.

I don't give a rat about that one player - I'm glad he missed. I wanted Cinco to lose.

I'll give Cinco props for playing well today.

I'm getting flashbacks of 2008. You know where people did not believe in the Tigers?

I hope and pray you have to write the Tigers another letter for Christmas this year. ;)
